It is not possible to get the pan out with the motor bolted in
place..even w/o a trans and flexplate attached. You can however
unbolt the motor mounts and lift th eengine a few inches to get it
done. You will not need to remove radiator hoses etc...but depending
on exhaust you may bh

get the pan loose, the gasket broke, then not be able to get the pan

I don't think there's enough clearance between the pan & crossmember
to do get it off, but I've never tried it with the trans out.

I had to remove my small block from mine to change the timing cover gasket
and oil pan gasket. I attempted to do it in the car, just
ou have to pull too
much)
