After collecting opinions on foods, Innova and Wellness seemed to top
off the list of the best so my son and I went out to eat and stopped
in a tiny pet store that just opened in town and lo and behold!!
Innova, Innova Evo, and Wellness along with a few others I've heard
mentioned. My two
haha Nope. He's old though..been around for 30 years or more in this
town. I was a little girl when our neighbors took their toy poodle to
him. The nurse there told me to look on the papers from the emergency
vet as they didn't have the paperwork on him yet from there. urgh
Anyway, all

He's not eating AGAIN!! He hasn't had a meal since 11:30 yesterday
morning. I gave him some Nutri-Cal about 8:45 p.m. last night so I'm
going to give him some more but surely he can't live off this PLUS he
has diarrhea now and has thrown up four times just clear spit with some
yellow mucus
He just drinks a tiny bit and that's it but he does do that a few times
a day. I feel like I spent all that money at the ER for absolutely
nothing. Oh, he's just FINE now!! UGH
I am forcing him to take Nutri-Cal but I don't think he can do on just
that.

Oh honey, just about everyone in this area would be considered a
backyard breeder. Only my first Shih Tzu that I've had over a year
came with a 72 hour health guarantee provided I took him to a vet and
he has never had any problems. My other two pups..PROBLEM CHILDREN.
He got sick in the car
are giving him his Albon. Coccidia is easy to whip but you must keep
him on the Albon.

Since he was at a vet for 24 hours and they still don't seem to
really know what's wrong with him, I wonder just how effective that
will be. They never really told me what they were testing for, just
gave a big list of stuff they did.
I do know that they tested his blood sugar and sent him
I think we may go to the vet though because he never is sick during
the day. It's always late afternoon and evening and then he's
throwing up and diarrhea. He hasn't had a normal stool since he's
been home and hasn't eaten but that once just now, seems fine, but
then he always does in the
I can't go to the vet who treated him because they are only open on
weekends and holidays. It's an emergency vet that did all this work
on him. They faxed the papers to his normal vet who referred me to
the emergency vet on Saturday night via answering machine. They
don't answer their phone
I don't work. I just quit two weeks ago to move from Misery
(Missouri) to California but I still don't see why he's having
diarrhea. He didn't have it when he went in, just vomiting. They
said diarrhea was normal and were happy that his blood sugar was
staying normal but he stopped eating
He has diarrhea at night. During the day, he doesn't go at all. He
eats in the day and does fine. At night, won't eat and then has
diarrhea and throwing up. He's basically doing the same thing he was
after just one day home.

That's what's so weird about it and has me confused. If his symptoms
stayed the same, I'd know better what to do. When he keeps being fine
during the day and eating and all and then at night is bad, I just
don't know. I've never ever seen this problem but then again I've
never had an itty
Yes they did a fecal on him. I just think they were concentrating on
his blood sugar and not worrying about much else. They told me he was
having diarrhea before I picked him up but that that was normal since
he hadn't had any food in a while.

Just got back about 40 minutes ago. I had to leave Sparky for a
while as he was dehydrated again but just a little bit. I fear what
would have happened had I waited again. He gave some subcu fluids
and said that the Albon and metoclopromide are two of the best things
to give a pup with his

Yes, he went to the regular vet and we all got home at a little after
6. I took him in about 3:30 and they kept him until close at 6 p.m.
and gave subcu fluids. They said he was doing well enough to go home
and he does seem well. He's eaten a little bit every hour so far and
drank some and

My fiance lives there. My 8 1/2-year-old son is really excited about

Going to Malibu - wow - nice area!
The vet that was there in the middle of the night went home this
morning but she called and left a message. They were going to try to
get him to eat something as she said he had pepped up with the
dextrose a lot and was not enjoying the blood tests they were doing.
Someone told me to ask for
As some of you have read of my poor little guy's problems, I noticed
some of you said to feed canned food to him like the Science Diet A/D
but I was told in the case of my Shih Poo that she needed to eat dry
food to build up her teeth so is that not a concern with Chihuahuas or
is it not a

They didn't say but he only has one a day so far. The last one was
the morning of the night of terror as I call it and it was kind of
like tar and it squirted out of himgross, I know.
And yes the bile acids test someone suggested I ask for was to rule
out a liver shunt.

Oh I don't really take much to heart on the internet as you can't

they took his IVs out. I called and asked if he could have them off

receptionist girl said he didn't much care for the IVs either and

Hi all!
Just picked up my new little boy last night, a 12-week-old Chi named
Sparky. He's very much a lap puppy and doesn't show much interest in
playing with my 1-year-old male Shih Tzu, Gizmo, or my 8-week-old
female Shih Poo, Sugar, but that's okay with me. :)
Just wanted to introduce
LOL
I meant to put the link to Sparky's picture and didn't. Excuse me
everyone! I'm almost 4 months pregnant and have a case of
forgetfulness. LOL

hehe Lordy No. I'm a horrid picture taker. That was a pic his breeder
had put of him online in the classified ad she used so I copied it to
my photo album.
