show frame-relay map should show you the CIR. I will paste the output of one of my routers: Router-R1#sh fra map Serial0.1 (up): point-to-point dlci, dlci 500(0x1F4,0x7C40), broadcast, BW = 256000 status defined, active Serial0.3 (up): point-to-point dlci, dlci 901(0x385,0xE050), broadcast, BW

RE: NT1 needed

Tone Commander NT1U-220TC has two terminal connections. That *implies* that you could use two devices simultaneously. I would suggest you dig up some documentation to verify this before you run out and buy one though... Good luck, Jeff Odell CCNP CCDA -Original Message- From: Brian

MGS password recovery

2000-10-15 Thread Odell, Jeff
Anyone want to jump into their "way-back" machine and help me figure out how to perform password recovery on a MGS? I have two of them with unknown enable passwords. I checked the password recovery section on CCO but the don't list anything as old as a MGS. I also searched the archives but did

RE: Boson test for BCRAN???

2000-08-03 Thread Odell, Jeff
The Boson tests are a great tool for evaluating if you are ready to take the BCRAN test. They are not a substitute for learning the material. Pick up a book and study. When you think you are ready, spend $30 for the Boson test. If you score well, take the real thing, if not, study more to help

Yeah. Go to Solar Wind's website, key in your credit card number and you will get your very own key. I did this a few months back and it works wonderfully. Jeff Odell CCNA CCDA -Original Message- From: Bullock, Jason [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, July 27, 2000 10:18 AM

Do you have either the switch port or the Compaq NIC set to auto-configure speed or duplex settings? That is the first thing I would look at. Jeff Odell CCNA CCDA Network Specialist -Original Message- From: John Neiberger [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, July 27, 2000 1:30

What routing protocol are you running on the routers? Do you have the proper default gateways assigned to the workstation and server? Can you send us the router configs? I am sure that many here will be happy to help you. Jeff Odell CCNA CCDA Network Specialist -Original Message-

RE: ISDN interface problem

2000-07-24 Thread Odell, Jeff
When an interface is configured as a backup, you can not use it for anything else. What you could do in this case is put the BRI interface into a dialer group. Configure the dialer group as the backup interface. You can then use the BRI interface while the main link is active. Jeff Odell CCNA

RE: HSRP and consecutive addressing

2000-07-24 Thread Odell, Jeff
AFAIK, the addresses can be anything from the same network. I traditionally use .1 as the virtual address, and .2 and .3 as the addresses of the devices running HSRP. Since you configure each device to run HSRP and tell both the standby IP address I don't see why the addresses you have

John, Depending on your bandwidth needs you might want to consider ISDN. My company uses BRI ISDN to back up each frame relay connection. Fairly inexpensive and with a few lines in your router config, can automatically come up when the frame relay goes down. I would recommend a 800 series

A Cisco TAC engineer told me that the SPID1 not valid, SPID2 not valid info in the Show ISDN Stat is a "cosmetic bug". As long as you have the two entries showing state=Multiple_Frame_Established, the SPIDs are valid. I experienced this bug in versions 12.0.5T and 12.0.7T on a 2600 router. It
