Even without 'no service config', it shouldn't take 10 minutes to get a router up. If you are consoled in, you will see the router attempted to get a config automatically, but again, even with that, you should get a command prompt you can control in less than 10 minutes. My 2 cents. Mike W.

If there is a boot system command in the config file, and that command doesn't list a network boot, then the router will NOT boot from network. If the file in the flash is corrupted, it will go ROM right away. Cisco web site has a nice diagram that shows all possible combinations. Message Posted
