Just prior to that we had seen a Rough-legged Hawk.
In the Buena Vista area, we had a Lewis's Woodpecker and a flock of 30+ Vesper

Both yesterday and today, Joe Scott, a fellow birder from Massachusetts and I

Today (Thursday), we had one Black Rosy-Finch, 3 Gray-crowned Rosy-Finches

One of the more difficult aspects of birding is learning bird sounds.
Luckily you don't have to rely on just your auditory memory to “tune-

Spring storms are a great time to look for ducks in mountain counties, so I
headed up to Clear Creek County this afternoon (Thursday). In Empire, I found
three Wood Ducks (two males and one female). They were on the large pond on

COBirders,
There are a lot of out-of-state chicken-watchers dodging snow showers in
CO this month. Besides looking for chickens, they will be trying to see
other species that might not be found in their home state, so maybe

Hello, Birders.
I visited Greenlee Preserve, Boulder County, during my lunch break this raw,
drizzly afternoon. There were some nice birds out there, among them:
* 1 alternate adult Thayer's Gull. Just right out there along the shore. Walked
