This morning, I took a short walk up my street in Centennial. I heard, then
briefly saw an adult male Summer Tanager. I didn't have my binoculars. Nor
do I have enough familiarity with the species to actually ID it by call.
But I got decent recordings, which is rare for me, and good enough

morning. It was hanging around just north east of the bridge working the
mid canopy in some boxelder trees. I posted it on my ebird list but it's
not showing up. Can someone send me the ebird reviewers contact for Fort

My group of 5 birders spent an hour at Melody Tempel Grove in northwest Prowers
County (north of Lamar) just now. Very birdy but few unexpected species,
nothing rare (per eBird). A molting first spring male Summer Tanager was the

The monthly birdwalk at Chatfield today discovered a male Summer Tanager at
the Plum Creek Picnic area (in the cottonwoods by the picnic tables between
the parking lot and the reservoir). This bird was mostly red, but showed
signs of molt (yellow feathering on the flanks and undertail coverts).

unfamiliar but melodic bird song; I was able to quickly locate the owner of the
vocals and noticed a Tanager-sized passerine accompanied by an unidentifiable

At 6 am I went out to get the paper and was greeted by the rich song of the

This afternoon at Sondermann Park we found a beautiful first spring *Summer
Tanager *in the northern section. He had found a bee hive in one of the
cottonwood snags. Also in this area were two *Northern Waterthrush, *a
