8.0 is out, but tonight I did a clean install from ftp.ciril.fr.
Pixel - the installer worked flawlessly! wonderful.

Fow now the quick solution is
cd /usr/share/i18n/charmaps
localedef -f KOI8-R -i ru_RU ru_RU.KOI8-R

The reason is there is LD_*=ru_RU.KOI8-R (/etc/sysconfig/i18n)
and in /usr/share/locale there are ru ru_RU ru_RU.CP1251 ru_RU.UTF-8

Troubles started when during installation, my ethernet card was detected

The solutions was simple. I had somehow installed nasm on my alpha,
which caused the problem when rebuilding this package. Perhaps an
%ifarch %ix86 should be put around the %configure statement, and let the
non-x86 have a %configure with --disable-nasm (or something like that,
it's in there, run .

Recently I've downloaded MDK 8 isos and installed a clean system
installation. Till now, I suspect I found several bugs:
1) The init script of acon fail to work. I managed to fix the script by
simply adding a ';' at the end of the first line of the switch. (
