I vaguely recall something similar in a previous release. Published md5sums
not matching the disks I mean. A couple of releases ago I think, and I had
already installed whichever version it was at the time without trouble.
I've turned off torrent until somebody figures this out since I don't want to

Yes, I've been chasing it for three days now. It seems that when I disabled
supermount for the -ROM and the -RW I managed to get them to mount manually
(using hdc=ide-cdrom)
to run at
boot now too. I have no access to any removable media now at all. The floppy
may have been part of it previously. Yep, I just checked the copy of mtab I
saved and what's at /etc/mtab now, the same exactly.
What to look for now?

terrified Windows refugees/users. That duty falls (or should) to those of us
that have enough sense to read and (mostly) understand the answers; the small
ability to 'help' install an OS that mostly installs itself, and the time to
teach enough for other 'gnubies' to find answers for themselves.

NFS on vfat partitions is not supported in kernel 2.4.8.
But it is in kernel 2.4.9.
I've seen that in cooker much work is done on kernel 2.4.8, but I hope
that MDK 8.1 will have kernel 2.4.9. NFS on vfat is a quite important
feature. Here we use it everyday.
