SIIG USB DigiFilm-Combo Reader (JU-RC3012)
I asked about this one a long time ago (before 9.1 came out)
I submitted to the hardware request mail address without any response.
I checked the www.linux-usb.org website without help.
Still no success.

Using XSane I can acquire a preview,
but when I try to acquire a real image,
the scanner either freezes about 3/4 way down the page
the application asking for the scan freezes up and then
I see my keyboard lights flash, and then the whole system
locks up

there still exists the problem of 9.2 beta 2 not detecting USB keyboards
at the install, therefore they cant be used to move through menu's and
change options. This has been a problem since 9.1 and earlier.
There are a couple of bugs related to this in bugzilla but no-one seems
to be notic

The USB chipset on the motherboard is VIA
and it appears that one of the chipsets on the VIA motherboard
is 2.0 and that there may also be an older VIA usb 1.x style
chipset as well. For what it's worth, the scanner is plugged into the
back of the motherboard where the onboard plugs are.

In Mandrake 8.2/9.0 (and maybe even before 8.2, can't remember) my USB mice have never

Icon? My hotplug script empties my DSC-F707 camera into a new directory,
indexes it, and wipes the camera. No muss, no fuss, no wizards.

And what about mounting a USB camera? The direcrory is created in /mnt,
the device appears in /dev (for me : /dev/sdb2) but it is not
automaticaly mounted into this directory...
It would be very great to plug the cam. and to wait for an icon on KDE
or Nautilus.

called if USBCORE is compiled in, even if other usb stuff isn't, so
thats what was causing that..

When I plugged in my usb card reader, SanDisk SDDR 09, I got an icon on my
desktop: dynamic_mnt_memory_card.
However, the icon was not removed when I disconnected the device and it seems
to still be mounted:
# mount | grep memory_card
none on /mnt/memory_card type supermount

I just patched unusal_devs.h to get my camera working as usb-storage.

When mandrake is booting up, the 'checking for new hardware' section
fails. Once gnome comes up, The USB controller (82440MX) is detected but
the usb devices are not.

It appears that the startup scripts are also trying to load up the
usb-ohci more then one times. (usb-ohci shows already loaded when doing
a lsmod).
this appears, more or less, as apperance bug (non-critical). i have an
onboard usb1.x controller and an add-in pcmcia/cardbus usb2.0

On my system, lspcidrake shows the following line for my usb controller:
usb-uhci: Intel Corporation|82371AB PIIX4 USB
But the usb init script searches for the string "Chipset USB" when it uses
lspcidrake to detect the usb module (see /etc/init.d/usb:64).
So either lspcidrake sh

The naming for usb-interfaces is inconsitent between /etc/init.d/usb and
harddrake:
harddrake adds the following line to /etc/modules.conf:
alias usb-interface-0 usb-uhci
/etc/init.d/usb searches for:
alias usb-interface0 usb-uhci
(see /etc/init.d/usb:181 and /etc/init.d/usb:38)

No, it was graphical install. I hav
i have a microsoft intellimouse optical 1.0a ( not explorer ) and it
works without problems... under install i select USB|Wheel etc..
btw. try the mouse with the ps/2 adapter... and see if it works..
i know that using usb you get better response, but maybe you won't
notice it in CS :-)))

I'm having probs with my Microsoft (yeah i know, but it rulez in CS)
IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0 (optical) and cooker install.
If I choose USB|Wheel under install everything works fine until it's
partition time. Then it all just freezes and kernel output is giving me

I've problems with my Microsoft (yeah i know, but it rocks in CS)
IntelliExplorer 3.0 USB mouse.
First during installation the mouse works, but then after choosing USB
wheel mouse and install shows my USB ports it stops responding. A quick
look at kernel output console shows this mess
