I'm not Helen, but it looks to me like you cook the peas separately in a
different casserole dish 15 or 20 minutes before the pork chops are done.

Hi all,
I notice that folks send out recipes using candy thermometers and wondering are
there any out there blind friendly? Or are there some cooks out there good at
doing the cold water soft ball, crack ball stage thing; and if yes could you
pass on some of your hints on how you do this.
I
Yes you may be correct. it is just that in the description on the top of the
recipe, it says it is a one dish meal. so i'll just put them on top after I
cook the other I suppose.

How to cut a mango
If poison ivy and poison oak give you a rash, then their sumac-family
relative the mango may, too. Extra care is all that's necessary to
avoid the itchy toll
Yep? That's what it looks like to me too.
And I haven't made this yet. I don't even remember sending it in. LOL.
Later.

I was just about to write in to the list about this very same topic.
I over cooked some fudge today because I can't seem to do the softball
coldwater test. So I ended up with crystallized stuff.
I can't remember where I got it, but I have a tactile candy thermometer;
however, it apparently

I have a friend who just had double bypass surgery this past Wednesday. She is
going home tomorrow, and some of us would like to prepare meals for her and her
husband for a few days. She says low cholesterol, low sodium-basically, no
flavor. I want to do this but am not sure what to prepare.
Jeremy,
I cannot seem to find a candy thermometer on blind mice... do you have a
product number? or suggestions to find the darn thing?
thanks

BlindMiceMart doesn't sell a candy thermometer so I'm not sure what you got
from them. An engieneering class is making one for me using some different
probes.

The thermometer at Blind Mice Mart, although wonderful and
affordable, is not a candy thermometer; it will not measure at
temperatures high enough. The thermometer that Dale sells at Blind
Mice Mart is for meat and liquids which do not get as hot as the

I keep begging these students to make a whole bunch of these things. I know
Dale would carry them if we could just get someone to make them!

I got one from blind mice mart.
I got it 2 or 3 years ago. It is a metal thermometer with dots on the top.
I use it for deep frying. Maybe he does not carry them any more.

Yes, I agree. Use lean meat like boneless skinless chicken breasts, low
sodium chicken broth, and add veggies like carrots, potatoes, onion, celery,
etc.
You can use spices like garlic, lemon pepper, sage, rosemary, thyme, or just
regular poultry seasoning that doesn't contain salt.

How about fat free soups to work with instead of or with broth?

I know they have low fat and low sodium cream of chicken and cream of
mushroom soup. I believe both the low fat and low sodium are actually 98%
free of either of those, so you could try using those for a casserole.
I usually just make a white sauce using Smart Balance butter or something
