Don't know why it didn't occur to me to post this before, but Mike's bringing
up the Hyde Park show reminded me that a poster (of sorts) for this show was
found a few months ago during the remodeling of a local school. They found it
behind some old lockers that were being removed. Notice the d

Wasn't the larger complex called the Meadowlands (fancy New Jersey term for swamp),
and the arena was called "the Brendan Byrne Arena at the Meadowlands"?
Pretty sure that's what they called it when the Nets played there (and Springsteen,
for that matter).

Lots of extras on the DVD release. And with the soundtrack being remixed in 5.1, I'm
not sure I understand what the point of a CD release would be (unless it was SACD
but still)

Kinda makes you wonder why they'd want to bother re-releasing Steal Your Face. Unless
they achieved magic in the remastering.

Aha! Someone else who has heard of a November release for the DVD... so maybe I
didn't dream it?!?!
I think I had posted previously that I heard it was being released in Nov., but
someone told me I was mistaking it for the November Grateful Dead Movie DVD release
(which also looks way cool), a
I've had several normally well-informed Heads tell me that they have been hearing a
November release, which might make sense due to the x-mas thing.
I think it's safe to say the theatrical run probably won't be too long. As great as
the film is, it's not exactly usual blockbuster fare.

I just obtained a sbd of the Clash's set from 11/27/82. During some between-song
banter, one of the guys (I'm pretty sure Joe Strummer) makes a reference to the
"Grateful Dead waiting in the wings". My first thought was that my Cla

Regardless of which rule you chose to use, I think the most important thing is that it
should be consistent across the database, which it currently is not in the Good
Times/Let the Good Times Roll example.

Cool! Thanks for the clafification on the Brent tune!
It would be nice if the Good Times/Let the Good Times Roll thing would be consistent,
though. FWIW, I think the title on Downhill From Here is "Let the Good Times Roll"

I noticed that there seems to be some confusion (hey, maybe just on my part, but I'm
not sure about that...) on the Deadlists listings regarding the song "Let the Good
Times Roll". In some instances it appears as "Let the Good Times Roll", other times
it appears as "Good Times" (4/8/89, for exa
I think I posted a question along these lines before, but I don't recall an answer, so
I'll try again...
Are there plans to start incorporating setlist data from the resurrected band, now
called The Dead?
I realize that there are different camps of thought regarding the use of the name,
etc.,
The winterland DVDs are being released shortly... I think w/in the next month or so (I
read a press release w/in the last couple of weeks). It's a 2 DVD set, color booklet,
etc. Sounds like a nice package, and 4.5 hours of Dead music.
Rumors of Sunshine Daydream pop up pretty regularly, but I

I think it would only make sense to also provide info on some of the more popular
sources for downloading shows, as this seems to be the way of the future...
Furthurnet, gdlive, etc.

His recollection is flawed. 11/23/68 is the only time they ever played Athens. I
have been on a quest for a copy of this show for almost 20 years. A recording
evidently existed at one time, as the venue (Memorial Auditorium, on campus) recorded
all performances for archival purposes. The tap
I have a sign on my office door which states "Please complete a whiners card and drop
it in the whiners box". The box has no bottom, and the card just falls through to the

Actually, if it looks like the one linked, it's worth nothing, and it's not even a

Disregard my previous post... it was the following night (7/1/85) that has the funky
mix. Helps to check those setlists before posting...

Except isn't there something wrong with the mix on this show? I have the sbd on CDR,
and I want to say that something is really whacky about the mix... like there aren't
any keyboards... or something.

I have a Mail Box, Etc., story that is actually on-topic:
