(as I said, an even an arm64 chroot works here).
The real issue tg pointed out is if there are different version inside
the chroots and outside (like wheezy inside and sid outside)

in this bug, but this can be
caused by https://bugs.debian.org/765738 which is a really odd bug,
and furthermore reproducible only on i386 (or 32 bit arches, not sure
here). I'm currently investigating this.

This bug caused ming being removed from soon-to-be-released testing (aka
jessie).
This cause a FTBFS on some package, and a package of mine too:
