When adding Paolo's snippet today I encountered that the pages in our
snippet collection looked a little bit scrambled. This was because at
some point back in time OO switched it's CSS-Stylesheets to a newer
version of tigris.css.
I've now fixed the problems and the pages look nice once again

No please note that one single OO-Instance can only handle one single
conversion process => OpenOffice can not deal with multiple threads from
external. You need to implement a request broker. There are plenty
examples out there e.g. one writen in python, ...

I'm uncertain about what I know about the the OfficeBean but in 1.x it
was the case that OfficeBean was drawn in an AWT-Container which is a
heavy-weigt one and when using Swings light-weight containers you'll get
into real trouble because light weight containers can not be drawn above
heavy weight
