Thanks Abe. Yes, I've found a couple like this one. SimplyDNS seemed
to look promising. There's always BIND for windows, but BIND is a real
pain to setup.

A couple years ago I found a real good one on Tucows.com, but I don't have

Understood.
I have some AD documentation to read, from what I know it needs a DNS and LDAP

Linux (Samba) can participate in such a domain in legacy mode only (i.e.,
as if it were a win nt4.0 server).

Integration of an Active Directory setup (win2k based) with a SME5 server
has never been discussed if I recall well.
But I think it's a widespread setup,

I may be misunderstanding you, but I believe part of what you are looking
for is in the web manager in the Workgroup configuration. This lets you
change the workgroup name and the server name -- this is Samba (ie, Windows

I have updated my templates to change the rest

expand-template is really there for testing template changes.
FYI -
Also, it is somewhat easier to effect the changes using:
/sbin/e-smith/signal-event console-save
reboot
rather than the long series of expand-template commands.

We have tried to run two servers on the same network but the
