Maybe. Ping time is affected by lots of things - specifically both network and
cpu.

Thanks a lot!
Do you have an e-mail or website you want listed at the top of the file
next to your nick?
I fixed a whole bunch of syntax errors, but there are also a couple of
too long strings in your translation:

problem.
OTOH, docs and FAQ would definitely make sense as wiki pages ... they would
still need menu items on the main site... If we use mediawiki, can we get
notifications by email when a page is changed? On wikipedia i think you have to
login to see such notices?

A long time ago the whole web site was a wiki. We abandoned it because the devs
never contributed to it. On the other hand, that was a long time ago, and I
think they are probably more likely to contribute now.
Also, _some_ users won't know what a wiki is (reading wikipedia occasionally
doesn't mean you know what a wiki is!). So I dunno if having a top level item
for the wiki is a good thing. OTOH most documentation could be wikified.

I do ... what files exactly do you need? Note that we may need to change from
https://checksums.freenetproject.org/latest/filename to some other domain at
some point, but we can hopefully do that by changing the update scripts.

the security level of Freenet has been configured properly it should be very
difficult to find out who has uploaded a Freesite.
The easiest option is to get Thingamablog. This is an application which will
let you create a Freenet blog (a "flog"), and will upload it for you. You can
download a Freenet-compatible version of Thingamablog from our web site here,
or over Freenet here.
If you want to make something other than a blog, or want to edit the HTML
yourself, you will need to create your web site in a WYSIWYG HTML editor such
as KompoZer. Currently we do not have a built-in tool for inserting freesites,
so you should get jSite from here, or from Freenet (more information about
jSite). Work through one of the following tutorials which are hosted on Freenet:
* Publish! - A short tutorial on how to insert freesites
* Freesite HOWTO - Another, longer tutorial on how to insert freesites

Does the new windows installer set up Freenet to use the correct language?
Obviously it asks you, but after that does the node use the correct language?
And does it pick up the system locale in the first place? IIRC the language
selection isn't very obvious?

Currently, we only allow new requests if our current requests can be completed

to allow more opennet peers for fast nodes. We have discussed this in the past,
