I don't think Slimserver 6.5 is MySQL 5 ready yet, and I believe that there are outstanding bugs filed on this. If I remember correctly, there is a problem with one of the data definitions that Slimserver uses. Try installing MySQL 4.1 and using that version. It works just fine for me. --

If it obtains an IP address unlike the rest of your network (i.e. 168.xxx) then can't access your wireless network at all. It has nothing to do with DHCP, it can't communicate with your router. Do you have MAC address filtering activated in your router? You haven't changed wireless passphrases

I've certainly had that happen before. And it nearly aways comes down to bad metatags in my audio files. You might try using some of the debug flags (e.g. --d_scan) and see if you can spot an offending file. Then try removing that file from your library and scanning again. -- gharris999

I've been using SlimServer's Server Network Health utility to monitor one of my Squeezeboxes that is located a bit from my router. The wireles signal strength averages at just over 50%, with a minimum of around 30% and maximum or around 70%. Server Network Health reports this player's signal

I've run with no problems anywhere from 40% to 60% and occasionally lower. It might depend on outside inteference factors which could cause problems even at 50% or more. Evidently, I don't have anything else causing inteference. -- Kyle
