Things just going from bad to worse with 7.2. I've done 2 clean
installs. Earlier sb wouldn't play aac files now it doesn't play any
files. Some of my music is missing and the 'now playing' window is
empty. I have a mac and iTunes 8. I've talked to tech support and
followed their instructions,

As a Professor at UC Berkeley you should know better than to expect a
good result from a childish rant that threatens to toss the device into
landfills. I'd expect more
All of the new alarm features added in 7.2 are extremely helpful. It's
now extremely close to the features I've enjoyed in kdf's ExtendedAlarm
plugin for quite a while now.
The ONLY thing keeping me from using the built in alarm is the lack of
a way to turn shuffle on when the alarm is

You need to copy lame.exe into the \server\bin\MSWIN32-x86-multi-thread
directory if on XP...

It's weird the playlist updates straight away with the new track
details but the now playing screen stays firmly on the old track. If I
go into control panel programs and features...scroll down to
Squeezecenter and uninstall it. then i would re-install the program.
i run a Transporter here too ,but run from a QNAP external server Not
from Windows which doesn't require your computer to be on all the
time.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I have now tried connecting SB via ethernet
and get the same problem. It connects just fine, plays for a while and
then drops the connection. Sometimes it will find it again by itself
but always it ends up with the message cannot connect to Slim
Server.

I purchased a Logitech Squeezebox Duet some days ago but I'm having
trouble running Squeezecenter 7.2.
After starting squeezecenter.exe the icon is displayed in the systray
with the message Squeezecenter starting, but that is as fas as it
goes.
What did I try:

I was getting a blank screen as well until I disabled password
protection. Once password was disabled screen was garbled. I cleared

I managed to make my Windows Mobile jobby connect up to my slimserver
where ever I had a 3G signal or WiFi round the home, it was just a bit
clunky a slow web interface

I've got an original version squeezebox (w/firmware version 40), and
have been running an older version of slimserver. I've just been
building a new system and have switched over to Ubuntu 8. I've
installed the new version of squeezecenter, 7.2. I turned off
apparmor, and most stuff
I believe this is a bug which has been fixed in the latest 7.2 nighly
release. It only impacts showing the web settings page for interface
for an older player.

Yep, I've been having this problem - it's really annoying!
In fact, I can't even get the scanner log to show me anything. I've set
all the options to debug that have 'scanner' in the name (four I think),
and nothing is showing.

No, that appears to me just a list of the most played tracks. Favorites
are user defined. You can see them in the Handheld skin with the URL

my squeezebox has worked in the past but now won't turn on. It does

Yes I do - I think its actually 7.2 scanner problems - I've no way to
tell with so many scan fails. But this is covered in another thread and
in a bug report - hopefully all will be well soon and I will have these
playlists too.
