You can buy it in Sydney for around $2500 AUD, mail order too.

I purchased my Bel Canto Pre3 from there, highly recommended service

I started a similar thread a while ago in relation to the pricing of the

it into a bit of a flame war, but a range of viewpoints were aired:

Did you read or search for all the other threads on the subject of
international pricing of the Transporter? It's been thoroughly
discussed. Or perhaps you have a new perspective on the topic?

The following web sites are selling the Transporter at £1,299.00

I din't kick off this post with the intention of focussing on value,
only to note the apparent price rises in the UK.
As you say taxes have not risen in the last year but the exchange rate
has moved in sterling's favour with respect to US purchases.
having said that, doing a search today
I tried the Transporter under their 30 day offer and just couldn't
justify the $2,000 price tag so returned it. But as someone else noted
above, at $1,500 it would have been a keeper.
Heck, even now that I'm all settled in with my SB3 and Lavry DA-10, I'd
still be real tempted by a $1,500 tag.
I don't think the taxes etc have anything to do with it as since it was
released it was available here for £1300 everywhere and that included
the free SB3. After a while the free SB3 deal went but prices were
still £1300. It was only after the Logitech deal that prices rose to
£1700. Tax hasn't go

I must say, it's nice to have sales for those who can get there, but
now the Transporter is $1,500 in the US and £1,700 (i.e. almost $3,500)
in the UK. Gosh!

Those are my principles, and if you don't like
The real shame is that for the price the transporter isn't "perfect" and
not even close to it as a review quoted on the slimdevices homepage
suggests. It's not even ready for sales!!! Switching from the digital
inputs to SS again renders the TP completely silent! I know that the
bug is being track

Why don't you have someone in the States purchase it at $2000, open the
box and take it out (so it's not NEW) then re-ship to you?
The cost of things, especially specialist luxury items like the
Transporter are higher in the UK (and the rest of Europe to a certain
extent) because of the following reasons compared to the US:
Taxes are higher (VAT)
Taxes are higher (company tax)
The cost of business is generally higher (Wages,
Something has actually happened since the last thread.
Previously the national Logitech sites showed a high price on the
Transporter, £1700 in UK I believe, now the Logitech site doesn't show
any price at all.

Why would they kill this thread when there's been another about the
same issue going on for the last few weeks? They've been able to
completely ignore that one, so one more won't hurt.

Given how the exchange rate has gone, it would be completely
unreasonable, but look at the PS3 - it costs more in the UK than
Europe, and more in Ireland than mainland Europe, even though it's the
same currency!
You could buy from Slim direct and pay the VAT and duty and it's about
the same as £1
ALL thoughts I had of buying one would go out the window at £1700.
