Yep, use a 6AU6, should work in most circuits, did the reverse in most of my

My R4B does NOT have the OB2, Drake removed that in the later R4A series,
early R4A had the OB2 and 6GX6 product detector, but the 11 tube version of

Interesting. I've seen 2 different schematics for an R-4B, one with V11
I guess then Drake must have dropped that sometime after the R4B was
introduced, as the other guy has a schematic of an R4B that also shows the
OB2, wonder if anyone on the list here can verify that their R4B unit
actually has the OB2 regulator in itthanks for the correction.

the time, I recently had a bad experience in getting a manual for a piece of

long time, great audio...also..better off w/o the preamp...stick a 470 ohm
