*I have used Deoxit for years and never knew that I was using it wrong, I
always thought more was better so when my old Drakes started giving me
trouble I would spray the heck out of the band switch and anything else I

I've used Deoxit for quite a while with very good results. (This is the
Caig product, not the Radio Shack product with a *very* similar name.)
As far as application, I use one of three methods:
1) Wet the sharp end of a toothpick and use that to apply. I
use this for tube.transisto
I bought a 2mL container of Deoxit 100% together with order for couple of
tubes. So far, I have yet to use Deoxit on anything, previous postings have
made me leary. I'm understanding one drop on the stationary contact, then
rotation? Then using industrial qtip to pick up the results?

I have a bottle of liquid Cramolin that I've had almost 20 years. I see that
Deoxit is made by the same company and from what I've read Cramolin had
something in it that was deemed "bad" somewhere.

Thanks to all who replied. I got some D100L Deoxit with needle
applicator and it completely cleared up the switches on my R-4C. I
expect similar results with my R-4B and two T-4XB's as well as other gear.

use ANY spray product on any electronics that I valued. The needle lets
you put concentrated DeoxiT directly on the switch contacts and ONLY on
the switch contacts. Getting it anywhere else is just an attractant
I like the 100% concentration with the needle applicator.

Used Deoxit many times to clean up corroded rotary switches and it does a
great job, never made it worse.
Maybe problems are elsewhere.
