Hello,
my answer concerns only the XMLUI. If the metadata is updated via the
interface, all stored values are deleted and added as new values. In my
opinion it requires a high implementation effort to avoid this.

please take a look at the error message. The 'dspace.log'-file can't be

Hello Marc,
|java.io.FileNotFoundException: /home/dspace/log/dspace.log.2019-03-25
(Permission denied)|
it seems that the system user, who runs dspace, as no permission to
write into the dspace directory. You should check the permissions, first.
Hope this helps and kind regards,

Hello Jaware,
it is possible to allow or deny access to specific paths via webserver
configuration:
https://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/howto/access.html
If you use an older version, there are these features, too. But the
syntax is slightly different.
I hope this helps and kind regards,

Hello,
the exception is thrown at line 74 in the build.xml. In this line the
'local.cfg' is loaded. So please check your 'local.cfg'. Here are some
good advices:

Hello Shaun,
it is possible for you to share a code template here or in a public git

Hello Kevin,
have you deleted your browser and/or tomcat cache? It helped sometimes,
when I run in these kinds of problems.
To delete the Tomcat cache, stop the tomcat and remove the
'tomcatX/work'-directory.
I hope this helps and kind regards,

Hello Andrea,
in the last section of my answer I refer to the XMLUI. In the JSPUI you
will find the 'Advanced authorizations tool' at '/tools/authorize'.

A better way is to create separate collections for each group. And if
group-1 with member A should not be administrator, you can assign rights
for all collection items via '/admin/authorize' and 'Advanced
authorizations tool'.
I hope that helps and kind regards,

Hello,
you have to take a look in the DSpace database configuration (
'local.cfg' ). Based on the stacktrace there is an authentication error.
'org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: FATAL: password authentication

Hello,
if you want accept items without any workflow steps, then do not setup a
workflow group in the target collection. You do not have to configure
anything for it in the 'workflow.xml'.

it seems that you don't have a main.scss in your theme or the user, who
try to install the theme, is not allowed to open it.
