I'm wondering if I have a problem with the transmitter in my K2. I
think other K2 owners will know if what I'm seeing suggests a problem.
In the process of comparing the power output reading on two different
wattmeters, I found the same odd behavior on both (so I think I'm
seeing K2 behavior,
Hello the list,
Sorry for the misunderstanding and the pass band used without necessities !
It was not about the bouncing back but the msg concerned my K2
Up to this morning, this K2 was a nice and good worker, with during the last
six month about a thousand QSO under his belt !
But this
And here are some things to read about K2+XV144!
I think something went wrong with measured K2 or XV144 but this are the
results and Henning comments:

Bob,
First check your power supply and the cable connections between the Power
Supply and your K2. The conditions you report are classic for a low voltage
at the K2 power connector and/or a high resistance (loose connection) in the
power supply path.

Thanks for all the info fellas. I didn't realize this information is in
the manual, and its obviously on the net with a quick search.
I thought it would be neat to have a tool I used years ago. I think I
may have been lucky. The local Radioshack told me they are no longer
available.
Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see anyone mention that the K2 resistors
are packed in the correct order from the factory. Also being
color-blind, I never bothered to try to read the color codes. I just
grabbed the next one from the string of resistors, checked it with the
DVM, and installed

I have for sale a Tandem Match Power / SWR meter, ARRL handbook. It is build
beautifully (if I might say so) into a K2 project enclosure. It fits
perfectly on top or underneat of the K2. The power ranges are 5, 10, 50,
100, 200 and 500 Watt. It is complete with directional coupler. Powering of
Adi,
No comment on the numbers they produced, but from Henning's comments about
the K2 - worst receiver, ridiculously high AGC threshold and his stated
dislike of the variable crystal IF filter indicate to me that he either has
a strong bias against the K2s features or has it adjusted improperly.
While true that the K2 does strip package the resistors in the proper
insertion order, several of the options package the resistors loose.
Knowing how to read the color code still comes in handy - but it gets easier
with practice, after 50 years of building, the values just pop into my head
when I
A quick way to check the value of the resistors is to use an ohm meter, ANY
ohmmeter, and run down the line on the tape strip when you first inventory the
kit and BEFORE you remove any resistors...It is quick and eliminates the need
to fumble with each individual resistor as you go through
Thanks all for your help
The problem lies with my skills at aligning the bfo filters and just
plain old
not understanding the proceedure fully. It took about 2 hrs for research and
alignment time to get it right. well at least 20hz away..I could
get it closer but

Hi folks
Since there is no swr meter Do you guys use the ammeter to measure
antenna tune/power out with
portable antennas. I am using a superantennas MP1 vertical and want to
keep the
accessories required on the trail low.
Thanks

I learned this version at a components id class I was required to take at

component has a fifth band. Yes, I also remember learning about Eli the ice

Hi Folks:
For what little it may be worth, I have just posted to my web
site www.n0ss.net a PDF containing an 8-1/2 X 11 sheet illustrating
Standard EIA Resistor 4- and 5-Band Color Codes. This sheet is suitable for
laminating and keeping handy for reference, or for hanging on the wall
Not much so far on this reflector about the new T1 kit. I just completed
mine and I just wanted to say what a great little kit this is! The
instructions really are exemplary, even better than I remember the K2's
being. The only minor problem I had was when winding toroidal
transformer T2. I
Greetings all,
I just received a mailing from Surplus Computers which is advertising
a 12V Auto JumpStart and Air Compressor for $19.99.
On closer look, this appears to be exactly the same unit I have
(purchased at Costco a year ago for around $60) for portable ops. It
contains a 17.5Ah SLA
Hello K2ers!
I just written an email to Henning regarding his results and told him, that
should be a great gesture if he can add a note to his site where is clearly
written, that something was wrong with measured K2 or XV144.
I hope he will do it.

Greetings.
Several times on this Reflector we see posts telling people
to tune into WWV exactly. Wellif any readers on the Reflector have
shot hearing like mine that could present a difficulty.
Here is what I do, and I imagine it is close enough for me without
instruments. I

Ever notice how many males are color blind? I think the overall
percentage is something like 80% with some form of color vision defect.
I have nearly monochrome vision, but it's not a big disability

This evening's nets were interesting. First twenty meters was spotty. I
had to be careful not to lose someone because they could go away at a
moment's notice. Even then the copy was not simple. Some of you were at
