Maybe you could check the circuitry around U2 on the frontpanel board and
see if you get 5V at pin 16. Also you could check if the pushbuttons do
react by measuring the voltages on the pushbuttons towards the U2
(3,4,5,6,11,12,13,14). Voltage is multiplexed by the bank1 and bank0 signal

orientation. Not only the ICs and diodes have a direction but the R-PAKs on

I was a radioman in the Navy back in the late 60's. We copied 5 character
groups so there was very little comprehension. I was totally immersed in CW
during radioman school and at the end of 6 months could copy 26 WPM. I was
the top man in the class but got beat out for first place by a WAVE.

assignment, so if you went to that training, you'd already shown some
ability to copy. Me, when I took that test, I lost badly. I did get
a Novice while in AT school, and many years later sweated blood to get

K2 KIO2 Problem.
A few days ago we had a power fluctuation in our neighborhood. The surge
protector and Battery Backup UPS did not help. The Power surge took out my
computer hard drive, serial interface card and it would appear had some
affect on my KIO2.
