Folks keep asking me how the field test is going. I think it's going
very well. Almost all the changes Elecraft has published have been
software. The hardware I have seen is very stable. There were a few
missing pull-up resistors and a ground jumper which we added easily in
the field. The front

I'm ordering one narrow filter and one very wide, both for digital use.
Filters are not a very big deal here - no strong signals from steroid
enhanced contest stations, just the local electric fence and my computer
network.
Narrow filter - to see what it does compared to just the DSP, wide -
I just went with the stock 2.7, the 6kc AM filter,

I doubt I would ever use FM, but who knows.
Plus, you can use the FM filter for short wave broadcast

If I was into DX or contests on CW, I would likely get

This is of great interest - thanks!
There are a couple of issues here.
First, if there are any hardware changes at all,
Elecraft either has to fix each one in the first
batch (of maybe 250?) or, accept the lead delay for
ordering a revised PCB group. This is probably my
preference, but I'm okay
My vote for 12 VDC power connectors goes to the Cinch Jones line... used on
the back of the HyGain rotor controller ... the newer ones and available
for years very widely. Of course, if u lack such a plug, u r stuck with
sticking bare wires into the socket holes, not at all good, but
I am new to APP's. I picked up the Racheting crimper from West Mountain

Let's end the APP threads for now. Its one of those topics that will

You said the 'magic words' - HI CUR, Hi REFL messages and lack of power
control (other than low and high power selection) *after* a lightning storm.
That is an indication that the lightning surge zapped diodes D16 and D17
in the KPA100 wattmeter - the result is that the base K2
