What Fred is referring to is the display on-line at Mailman. I
complained about the same thing a few days ago but might as well save my
fingers, it is caused by posting e-mails in Preformat or whatever
various e-mail programs call it. Using Body Text cures the problem!

Okay. Outlook just calls it plain text (no formatting for lines or fonts).
It's a VERY common format and generally preferred since it allows the
reader's computer do the wrapping.
Looking at the QTH.NET archives, I see the same thing, but it's no longer

Carey. You still need to do the TX Gain calibration. That's what is
causing your error. Page 46/47 of the manual. Set power to 5W and hold
TUNE for a couple seconds on ALL BANDS. Then, if you have the KPA3
installed, you need to do the same for ALL BANDS at 50W.

Seems like you got the TX GAIN error while doing the initial power
calibration. That is what I had.
Here is what did it for me. (Greg's suggestion on checking REF CAL).
Turn the rig on and wait at least 15 minutes for he reference
oscillator to stabilize. Waiting is important. My

with markings brn-grn-blk-grn-brn (would be 15M ohms), mine was
brn-grn-blk-brn-brn (which would be 1.5k, as noted in the parts list).
The value and the markings matched up with what was in the parts list
for the Rev. A

ERR TXG problem resolved. The problem was the offset on the FL1
filter...I had it set for .86 rather than -.86. Once that was changed,
everything went like clockwork on the Transmitter Gain Alignment.
