If you put a coat of India Ink, it will make Masonite conductive enough to
make a home brew ESD mat. It must them be grounded. This is according to a
QST "Hints and Kinks" article from Jan 2000. If anyone would like a copy of

Sounds like a loose connection or solder/wire causing the issue. I highly
recommend going through the board and looking closely at all of the
components and solder connections. Every problem I ever had was basically
one of solder connections. Either I missed one or got interrupted and
I'm using Koss UR-40... $49 from Radio Shack.

working on Flight decks and around jet engines. So I have no need for a pair
of high performance $250.00 headphones. But, I'm looking for a new set. Does
anyone have any recommendations for a full size pair in the $5

until you have at least reached 7-10 WPM with no problem. Going to a
Vibroplex key then would be "OK" as even I find it difficult to send really

have very rectangular canals, and none of the Shure or Sennheiser universal
fit tips (foam, soft cones, silicone cones, or three-flange) come close in
my case to the isolation of the well fitted custom molds provided by Li

What does the K3 lack that a Rigblaster or Signalink provides? I use
mine with MMTTY, N1MM logging/CW keying and DM780 straight to a sound
card. The TX control in DM780 is via the normal serial cable, in MMTTY
via a simple single transistor keying circuit built into the 15 way
accessory
And its not just Australians. I have no use for a ssb only band either.
We'll just wait for that feature update.

I don't believe so. You will need to go to the manual and find the
page(s) that list the original settings and then manually go through the
settings menu and adjust them as necessary.

Anyone know of a good spectrogram application for Linux. Preferably
free but that usually goes without saying in Linux. I'm interested in
finding something that will show filter shapes and give actual amplitude
values. I know I can get part of the way there by using waterfalls but
that is not qu
Please excuse the bandwidth, I turned on my brain. It appears that every
digest that was truncated was first caught erroneously in my ISP's SPAM
filter :( I have contacted them.

I second that Brett, DM780 (via the standard serial lead) and MMTTY
(with the addition of a switching transistor as per their help files)
both key the K3 just fine without needing VOX and it's inherent issues
with beeps and squeaks from Windows.

I'm wondering if I left something out or what.
When tap the VFO A/B button on the front panel, the entire top row of
buttons also moves ( keypad numbers 1, 2, 3, V>M, M>V). You can

The buttons 'stick out' about 1/8" and that's consistent across the
entire FP.
