I would like to share information on a product I ran into that does just
what I needed with my K3. I love my Diversity receive and think I must rate
it the best feature of the radio. My 2nd receive antenna is just a floor to
ceiling wire fed to the K3 through a little MFJ tuner. Believe it or not,
Mike,
You can look for me at FDIM on Thursday and on Friday and Saturday, if
you frequent the Elecraft booth, you may find me taking a 'rest break'
from the times I will spend walking the tailgating areas.

Actually, Don,
A breath from your mouth is really good advice. It would contain a lot of
water vapor which will help remove the electrostatic charge on the plastic -
at least in the short run. The canned air and the nylon brush will both
likely exacerbate it.

I'm planning to try to help out at the Elecraft booth on Friday and Saturday
afternoons for at least a couple hours (probably 1-3 or possibly 2-4 p.m.

I just loaded some details of the latest issue on the QRP ARCI website

Look below the FDIM article !
Haven't had time to read mine yet, but it looks like a cracking issue.

Hi fellow Elecrafters,
The K3 is the best & pleasant radio I ever had, but it also is one of the
most ear fatiguing I've ever listened to on voice.
I'm very surprised about this because Wayne's brilliant design should be
able to sound like the very finest sound equipment. The DACs and audio

I'm so glad this point was raised. I thought it was the usual case that the

Hi all,
We're hoping that the latest K3 beta firmware, revision 3.11 (DSP 2.15)
will go to "production" firmware status next week. While 3.11 doesn't
have everything that everyone has asked for, it's a huge step forward
from the previous production revision (2.78).
To ensure that 3.11 meets ou
I just received my K3/100 kit and did the parts inventory this morning.
At 7am I emailed Elecraft from home to let them know I was missing a
couple little parts. By 9am when I got to work I already had a
response. I already like this company!

The message indicates that garbled responses are received forom the

Try 38400 bps or a different cable. I doubt that an older K3 Utility

The older firmware you were using did not have a banner so it could not
be saved. You could probably save your config using an older version of
the utility, then use a newer version to update your rig and restore the
configuration.

Dan,
The original question has already 'morphed' to one of general use of air

Let us think about one of the reasons for that statement in the manual.
The VFO A encoder has a plastic plate under it. We all know that
plastic can often build a static cha
I'd use the canned air.
The brush can be used for anything that doesn't blow off.
The Diflouroethane is the canned air propellant.

There could be something in this old PC idea. Mine is a 700MHz P3 vintage
