I like my K2, but I've never regretted selling a transceiver more than

I'm not knocking the 7000 -- it's a versatile little rig. It's just a

Don,
The XG2/3 is a nice-to-have for alignment of the K2, not a need-to-have.
I aligned my K2 on the band noise and used a simular way to bring a
signal on highest bands (like you used your ft450),
I have a XG2 now for measuring purposes, but seeing the XG3... sure
would like one of those some
Thanks Bruce,
Answered perfectly! Exactly what I wanted to know.

yes, that is right. I forgot that it was a thinner box.

Yes.

Wayne has said that this will be the case. What was not clear was if you
will have to set a switch or jumper on the
Actually, I believe Wayne described it as the same _footprint_ as the K3,
but about 1 1/2 inches in height. I don't know if that included the feet or
not. Perhaps we can get some updated dimensions later today.

If I buy the KXBC3 NiMH battery/RTC option, can I still put ordinary
alkaline manganese cells in it as well? And would the KXBC3 know not to
allow charging to occur? Or would I need to swap the KXBC3 with the
standard battery pack if I wanted to use non-rechargeables?
Thanks

I asked the same question a while back and learned that it would be the same as
the K3 case, just like the KPA500.

Does anyone know what the final KAT 500 enclosure dimensions will be? I'm
building new equipment shelves and need to leave the correct amount of space
to accommodate a KAT 500.

This probably has nothing to do with using RIT.
The K3 takes a few seconds to recognize that the amp is on line and then
respond by switching to the KPA500 power table.
Give the K3 slightly more time. Either swap the amp-On/RIT ON operations by
enabling the amp first, use the amp's automatic O
But Mouser _does_ have the plug, from which you can build your own adapter,
or attach it to an existing microphone.

I used the xg3 to align 10 and 12 m which would have been difficult because of
the low noise levels in those bands. People have done it without but I have
done a much better job of alignment with it overall

However, the KX3 is not an iPhone. The iPhone pinout includes a left and
right audio out channel, and audio in, and a ground. From previous published
comments, it appears the KX3 will have a PTT/UP/DN line, an audio in (with
bias for an electret element I assume), and two ground lines. One would ne

A quick scan of Google came up with this site with all kinds of adapters for
