Can you tell if the receiver is detecting some sort of signal? Verify
that S2, the OPER/OFS TEST switch, is in the OPER position. In the

Hi Scott,
When the P3SVGA board is installed the K3's 12V accessory output is right on
the edge of being able to supply enough current.
We are working on a mod kit for the K3 and should have it available soon.

Good Evening,
Those were two fun nets! Propagation was better on twenty while
forty meters produced three check ins. John was running the linear on
his K3 which was easy to tell when he gave me a 359 and I gave him a
599. I am not sure when the ionosphere will calm down since 1429 is
pea
With the following checkins and a KX3 to talk to, then another KX3 arrives, to
do a KX3 # 5 to KX3 # 24 production board to production board Q... we had a
great net.
Thanks to everyone who checked in and those that didn't get listed but were
listening, and special Thank you to John, N6
Dear Don,
thank a lot for your help! The problem now is solved!
As you suggested I checked RF signal on U1, U2, D2, Q2 and Q1, but for
the last component I found it was missing!
I checked it on assembly step on page 28 but I didn't install it at all.
So I have installed the 2N7000 FET and now S-m
Fred,
It could be that the IF output mod was never done on your K3. I'm
pretty sure S/N 642 was before the change was made in production.

Another possibility: Were you using a CW or a modulated signal for
calibration? Modulat
I'm running HRD 5.11 and the P3 with 1.13. Make sure you have the HRD comms
running at 38,400 as that is what the P3 requires.
There is a different HRD issue, where it cause AGC to be turned off on the
K3, and having the P3 inline makes that problem worse. There is a beta
release of the K3 firmwa
Hello Everyone!
I am planning on building a multi-band dipole fed with 450 Ohm ladder line
soon. I have a K1 & K2, both with the ATU's installed, and the BL2 switchable
balun. I was wondering if I could connect the balun directly to the back of
the K1/K2 when I use this antenna? My other opt
I have read the PDF manual as published at the Elecraft website and
followed the P3SVGA threads here on the reflector am still unsure of the
power requirements other than I'll need to connect it to a power source
that supplies 700ma and the K3 aux only provides 500ma.
So, if I install the P3SVG
Joe - I'll send you the data capture with screen shots this time. The K3 and
TS-850 settings were identical to the Microham MK2R+/DXLabs config guide and
still are. I still *never* use the 850 when DXLabs is running, as the second
radio is only used during contests with N1MM, where everything work
As Don suggested I checked RF signal on U1, U2, D2, Q2 and Q1.
For the last component, surprisingly, I found it was missing!
I checked it on assembly step, on page 28, but I didn't install it at all.
So I have installed the 2N7000 FET and now S-meter is working very well
(using factory defaults).
Yes!!
I've been reading this list because I'm contemplating switching from an
Omni-VII to a K-Line. But, I love the way my station is set-up with the
rig up on a riser so I can look straight at it and the remote tuning
knob and keypad on the desk where I can reach it.
