Mike, to me, the thing that sets the KX3 apart as a unique transceiver
is the fact that it's a multi featured rig inside a very compact self
contained package. It's perfect for portable qrp operation, which is the
reason I bought it. For that type of operation it would not be nearly
as versatile w

The brightness of the P3's internal LCD display is set by going to MENU:LCD
BRT. The brightness of the external monitor is set by the monitor's own
controls. The manual doesn't cover the external monitor because they vary
with each monitor. See you monitor's manual for that adjustment.

Your monitor should have brightness and contrast controls. You
should use those to adjust the SVGA brightness and contrast, as you
would on any TV or monitor.
Setting the SVGA bias will only adjust the color saturation of the
SVGA waterfall.

Just installed the SVGA card in my P3. But I can't figure out how to adjust the
brightness of the waterfall trace. I am guessing it is an adjustment in the P3
menu, because the waterfall on both the P3 and SVGA monitor are rather dim. I
have not been able to locate any "how to " in the P3 Manual

A vertical dipole can be balanced with the lower element shorter. It will have
more capacitance to ground, which makes it electrically longer. This is like
