outside of ham radio than within it. Ham radio does, however, give me
the opportunity to learn more about electronics ... and antennas ... and
propagation .

Find some friends. Talk to them.
The radio is secondary.
Throw up some antennas. Test them.
See what they can do. Talk to your friends.
Buy the best radio you think you can afford and enjoy it.
Take care of your wife and kids.
Stop going so beserk about the radios.

I have given up on getting the software for FLDIGI to work so I can read the

Is the PA temperature correct in the menu? Do the PA Temperature
Calibration as indicated in the manual - it is easy, just turn the K3
off until everything is at room temperature, then power on and enter the
menu then set the menu temperature to match the room temperature.

Twitter is being used as a transmission medium in several applications I
know of ... one is a mechanism to spot yourself to SOTAWatch and/or
QRPSpots from a phone. I don't know how it works but I had to get a
Twitter account to use it.

Hi all,
I have to say, after a week of using the K3, I am just so damned happy
with it I can't describe the feeling.
This rig does almost anything I can think of... I had a level issue on
Line out... Yes, it has an adjustment for that, (wish it was by band),
I want to set some macros for it,
I'd buy one.

I know there are hams who tweet their rare DX contacts, so it won't be
long before the rig or logging software will post those automatically to
whatever social media site you prefer. Something to look forward to... ;)

The two tips I might offer are: (1) lockout all the bands you won't be using
with the BND MAP function. The WARC bands as a minimum. Just makes it nicer
