Same thing had happened to me today, so running K3s at 5 watts, and the
Kpa500 is putting out 80-90wstts

Yep, Costco for hearing aids is the best. My wife has had them for years,
and we are going there today for "tune up". Always great service, and with
our back and forth to Texas, we always have a Costco for follow up, if

Doesn't that present a problem? I thought the KAT500 was supposed to be

Yes, good idea! I am also going to call Elecraft and speak with Brandon. I
tried that yesterday, but he had the day off.
As of now, firmware in both K3's are the same, firmware in both RemoteRig units
is the same.
So, we will go from there.

I was able to answer my own question. I was able to use a macro to change the
center freq position. My reasoning for wanting to do this is to be able to

I can't really comment to the K3/0, but I can tell you when running a K3 as
both the remote and control rigs, there is not a problem at all.
To me, it is just as if I am sitting in front of the remote station, performing
all ops from there!

My alarm system uses a combination of wires, for the doors, and wireless for
all windows and motion detectors. I usually run the K3 with the KPA500 at

I am NOT seeing this behavior on my K3/100, SN 4401 w/4.39 firmware
installed (just this past weekend.)
As best as I can recollect, it has never changed when plugging in the
headphones.

Yes, 288 + single sided pages would be terrible! Fortunately, I was able to
print mine out double sided and it fits into a hardcover binder with no problem.
