Thanks. I don't know how I missed the section "Chokes in Series"!
I really appreciate the extensive work you did to build and measure all the
chokes. You are making a difference to small suburban stations like mine
that live in a sea of noise.

Okay well I tried transmitting at 144.49 from my HT and yep! Sure enough a
big orange signal on the PX3 so it seems to be working fine, I guess the 2
meter background noise is so much less than on HF apparently. It is
certainly totally blank on the PX3 though without an actual signal.

going to the PC sound card, and the KX3 shows about an
S2 noise level on 2 meters.
thanks for any thoughts! 73's

couldn’t cost justify the added
expense.
The Wizards of Watsonville always seem to have something up their sleeves and
it will be interesting to see what’s next.
If the new offering is a greater performance improvement than the K3s, I might
be tempted.

Tom,
You cite my name in your post, but I have absolutely no idea of what you refer.
I built my K1 serial 175 in November 2000 and I experienced NO problems start
to finish.
Quote the posting to which you refer, including its date.

My Model 15 took a lot of 3-in-1 oil to keep it running back in the late 1970s.
I can still smell the warm oil.
I worked Antigua on 20M and that QSO started RTTY DXing for me.

Is measuring it out of the question?

Works great.

Also, do you have any guidance on the spacing required when packaging a
two core choke, ie if the two cores were in a box, what vertical spacing
is required between them?
Could the Powerwerx SS-30DV be the same supply as the Tekpower TP-30SWI minus
the meter and a few dollars more? Anyone measure the efficiency of the
Powerwerx, AC input vs. DC output power?
