That one's actually a bought model (Number 50217 from vectorart3d.com. One
of the first pieces I did on the router - since then I've got a lot better
at modelling from scratch, but it's very time consuming, and sadly - isn't
really viable for one-offs.

Doesn't harden it - or only a surface layer anyway, if you cut the wood it's
back to fresh oak pretty darn quickly. I expect if you left it in long
enough it would start to permeate through, colouring and hardening the core.
