Another fun side use of this is to catch lightning with long exposurs
(clearly only useful at night-time). Stormy outside? Point your camera
in the general direction, set it to manual and just have the TC go at
it and take 15-30 second exposures non-stop until your card fills up

(and maybe from the .THM files from the 10D, I don't really recall

IIRC, the Gold signifies USM (
Rob Galbraith has a few preview snippets of information up on his site
and definitely mentions the software below, praising it as light years
beyond (and nothing like) FVU, but he hasn't had much time to flesh out

This is my first post to the list since joining last year after purchasing
the D60, and soon after, the 10D (thanks, PMA!). Just by way of background
info, I mostly take pictures of our children, on a daily basis so that we
can put together a collage of pictures frmo every day of the year.
