I wish I could get my serial communication problem solved, I currently
can't talk to the hairball at all.
Sounds like your Hairball is damaged. I killed mine once. It would
communicate intermittently, then stopped talking at all. Do you have relay

I have been happy with the Elcon DC-DC converter. They come in two models
with a pretty wide voltage range, but Its output isn't as high as you
mentioned. Mine is 360W output. That is enough for an older car with a
radio, lights, vacuum pump for brakes, power windows once in a while, and

Hi Chuck,
I have good data on the Elcon 2000+ at both 120V and 240V. Of course, that
is a smaller charger than you are looking at.
The 2000+ does a great job of switching between the two voltages
automatically. Unfortunately, it draws 15-16A at 120V, so it isn't really
suitable for a typical 15

Hi All,
A friend is upgrading his Solectria Force and going with a higher pack voltage than his
existing DC-DC converter is rated for. I know the Vicor company makes DC-DC converter
bricks, but was wondering if someone knows of another good option for a DC-DC converter
that will take 100-200V
Look like nice chargers. But it's not clear to me whether they would
work on a 96V pack. I saw some mention that it would charge at reduced
DC current, but page 41/47 (graph at the bottom) of

That can be pretty easy. Measure the armature voltage of your motor
versus RPM. Figure out what voltage corresponds to what RPM with no
field current.

I had some strange Zilla issues once that turned out to be noise in the
RPM sensor. The sensor signals weren't being picked up properly so the
controller cut power to the motor after it detected a "stall" caused by a
faulty RPM signal. My EV would move forward a few feet before the Zilla

*Costing* them? If the dealer can talk you out of buying an EV in favor
of a high-margin car, truck, or SUV that they already have lots of on

I did a little internet research a bit ago regarding wheel/tires for my Saturn,

than most aftermarket wheels, it seems. I was a little disappointed since I
wanted an excuse to buy new wheels :-)

Interesting. Apparently the unheated battery pack is working ok in the cold.
