Maybe you have the same problem that I had. An evolution filter
triggered in moved the mail somewhere.
Try create a search folder in evolution and search for a mail which you
suspect has been deleted.

Thanks for your suggestion, although I do want to ultimately delete

in a separate file before they are deleted from the live folders.

Hi Milan,
deleting the local cache did the magic. Looks like everything works as
expected. No error message anymore and new mails coming into that specific
folder.

Get a problem while syncing one of my imap inbox folders. all others seem to
work without problems. I'm using evolution under arch linux with gnome.
Probably the problem occured, after I installed mate-desktop. It still
remains after removing mate.

Right no forcing. I figured out how to get around the issue. I just have
to let Evolution assume I want IMAP to the mail.com server, and then go
back and it will allow change there. But if I let the account be created,
THEN I can't change it.
And for the record, it is Evolution 3.8.5

Just create
n (2.28.4) of evolution and the folder
structure changed (Look into .local/share somewhere, I guess). But you
could just go to .evolution/mail// and archive that
folder.
It contains the database file and the individual mail folder files.

Sure, use message filters, available in the main menu under
Edit->Message Filters. Create a new rule, add action "Set Label".
