First off, if doesn't sound like an Exchange issue...it sounds like an
Outlook settings issue.
Second, have you checked User A's account for any delegates? Are there any
other people that have full "User" priveleges on this mailbox? Have you
checked the Outlook rules or the Tools/Options/E-mail
Hello,
We are having a strange problem with one user's (we'll call her "User

2) User B accepts invitation.
3) A short while later (the time varies), User A will receive a

Neil,
Thanks for the quick rundown, but none of those appear to be the
problem:
1. All DC's listed in RUS are available from the Exchange server. No
problem with connectivity either by FQDN or short name (netbios name).
2. I've checked all the way to the individual object in AD. Exchange

My only suggestion would be to shut down, AND DISABLE all the stuff you
were going to shutdown, then reboot (That is to say, power off reset)

Steven, thanks but we are on SP4 and according to the article this issue was
fixed in SP1. I had double checked this to see if it was possible to delete
a special folder (my Inbox), and I received the error "Unable to delete this
special folder".
Thanks,

I have seen cases when Exchange does not switch to another GC quickly
enough even if the other GC is in the same site as the original GC.
I think early builds of Exchange 2000 were susceptible to that. But I am
not convinced that it is completely fixed.

Are both GCs in the same site? Outlook does keep the GC in the registry,
but it gets it from Exchange in a process known as "referral". Look in your

it's known as DSAccess) and you can see which GCs your Exchange server us

Error code 5 is access denied. I'd try running either filemon or regmon
from sysinternals. Maybe that will shed some light on what is causing
the issue.
Also, don't you know you shouldn't install SP4. It's an even numbered
service pack. ;)

Hello all, I have a bizarre OWA 5.5 SP4 issue regarding hard deletes from

will be moved to her Deleted Items folder. When she does this, though the
4 commons ways RUS can break are below. They may not all be appropriate
