Hi All,
A big thank you to the forum!
I transitioned my Exchange to 2010 from 2007 without any issues with the help
of the forum.
I am looking for a backup solution for my Exchange 2010. What are my options?
I have 13 database. Right now I am using Windows 2008 R2 SP1 Windows Server

We are currently in the process of migrating from Ex2k3 to Ex2k10 and we have a
number of remote users using rpc/http on xp.
When the users are on ex2k3 the rpc/http works correctly, when since we've

We migrated to Ex07 from 03 and what we found was using the domain/username
combination works

Hi john
We used this format in ex2k3 as this was the only way it'd work :)
And so we just kept the same format after the mailbox migrated, but
unfortunately this didn't fix it for us

Thanks Dave. I'm so surprised that there appears to be no mention at
all of those prep steps on that Microsoft tutorial/guide.
So in order I simply run:
setup /PrepareLegacyExchangePermissions
setup /PrepareSchema
setup /PrepareAD
Presumably this adds permissions but won't break
I think if you have permissions it will do those anyway, but did them
separatley because I raised a separate change.
Don't have blackberry so I don't know about permissions. I think its
just adding extra permissions.

Ooo, please tell me more. I'm facing the same scenario, (only we're
under 2007 for the moment - migration to 2010 is in the works).
We have a team of recruiters who use a hosted app called Sendouts. There is
a client for the app that is installed locally and needs to be able to send
smtp mail
Check the outlook security settings on the client NTLM/Basic AUTH , also check
to see the encryption settings on outlook

Hi All
Hi jean-paul
Both auth settings (outlook and get-outlookanywhere) are set to basic, as this
was what I read to work and what we used on ex2k3

To manage
We have moved to Veeam for vmware installations (I guess HyperV is coming soon)
, and for on-premise hardware setups we are using Arca/BDR units, which is just
Shadow Protect with Ontracks Recovery piece tied into it for the most part.
The largest client we manage is @ 1.2TB with 6 Exchange

James,
Yes, it helps a lot! We don't have that many PB's, so I'm going to
disable/enable per your suggestion.
This is one of those unknowns that was bugging me. Now I know why it's
happening!
Thank you very much!!!
