I do not suggest a ".www" directory, since many ftp clients do not list
directories with a dot before them.
Just create the public_html directory in each of your user's file, then
chmod it to 0755 so it's world readable
Your system is probably already set up to do this, but with the public_html
directory. Look for the UserDir directive in your httpd.conf file, and
modify it according to your needs. Don't forget to restart Apache after
you've made your changes.

in X. It just stopped doing it after I upgraded to 3.3.6 of XFree. If
someone could be so kind as to point out the method to get X screen
blanking automagically again, I'd appreciate it.

After a few hours I was able to get a windows 2000 box to print to my
samba server on my mandrake 7.0 box but it won't print multiple copies
of the same document only one at a time. Does anybody know how to get it
to print the multiple copies of a document.
Have you tried 'rpm --rebuilddb'? Are you running rpm as root or superuser?
You won't be able to install much as a normal user.

I've installed Oracle 8.1.5 (8i) on Mdk 6.1. But when I increased

I have changed shmmax, and also change max_memory on kernel
parameter, and recompile kernel with no success.

You are not alone with this problem.
I think that the best solution is to compile your rpm . However, you will
probably loose your rpm database. That's why when then you will install a
package you will need to use the --nodeps options all the time.

Oops, sorry i forgot to put info about logrotate itself in there too.
You can remove the /etc/logrotate.d/samaba file, but then if you do start
actualy useing samaba the logs will not get rotated (reinstall the rpm, or
copy it out of the rpm to get it back).

Mandrake seems to have a large number of newbie users. I think some
exposure to things like CERT would be a good thing. If your post has a
subject along the lines of "[OT]CERT Alert " I can't see what the
