You can change security levels in DrakConf - sounds to me like you chose
High, I'm running on Medium with none of these sort of problems.
Sendmail is a Mail Transfer Agent (MTU) meaning it moves mail from one
computer to another. It does not enable any kind of access to mail. You
will need to install a POP or IMAP server -- depending on your clients'
needs -- to serve up the mail to remote machines.

OK, now I've got a question...
When I did the install of MDK 71, I think I chose the Medium or High
security level, and it it has stuck me in a position that's, well, pissing
me off. I cannot execute anything I install in root from any user but root,
nor can I ssh out of the box if I've su'd to r

Thanks for wasting the two hours I had today to do some programming!
I was compiling just fine in 7.0 after figuring out how to install
everything I needed. now I do a clean install of 7.1 "developer" and
everything else is installed to compile C++ except the libsrcc++ or
whatever you call it.

If you're using RedHat, then you should use the RPM (which will install

My sendmail binary resides in /usr/sbin/sendmail because that's where the
sendmail RPM put it :)

Helllo caval_fort,
There is a Linux version of Netscape6, and it works pretty good on
Linux. I dare say it is working better on Linux than on my NT4
partition. When you install have Netscape6 go into a new folder, do not
let it overwrite your existing Netscape folder. On Mandrake, Netscape is

Allright, I don't know if I unstand this any better this time, but I think I

trying to connect you linux box to the internet using the Windows box as
