I can't help with your thrashing problem, but I can tell you that if you
send to both the expert and newbie lists in the same email, two emails
will go only to the first address you listed. In this case, the expert
list.
So if you want to send to both lists, you have to send two seperate
emails.

Just use the latest NVIDIA drivers; they can be downloaded from their
website. I heard they're pretty unstable in combination with Athlons
though (don't know about other AMD CPUs).

I need a convient way to script setting up a path variable within a single
console so that I may set up multiple consoles running different setups. I
wrote a script and ran in it in the console window to set the path but it
seems when I run the script it creates a new instance, sets the environme

There were some comments about Tyan boards a little while back either
here or on newbie. You may like to check the archives for those. Seem
to remember some problems, but at the same time the board was highly
rated for performance. That would have been pre-8.2 though, so any
config issues may h
Well, being a hardware enthusiast, I would recommend atleast a 400W
powersupply to ensure stability. However, I would also recommend going
w/ the 1700+ or higher processor in retail box, as there price point is
about to move down sufficiently that the 1600 won't be worth the money.

No idea on whether it's supported, but as a general rule I would
strongly recommend an external modem with standard serial port
connection (not USB). That way you know you are getting a real one,
