y Mandrake; it's the best distribution I've used. Of course,
I've only used two others (Redhat, Caldera). However, it would be interesting
to hear what more seasoned Linux users have to say about Mandrake vs. Slackware.

I had a lot of problems with the VNC RPM on the Mandrake 6.1 disk. I
was VNCing from work (latest version, 3.3.3 R2) to the VNC server at
home. It had a lot of problems, and I finally just downloaded the
binaries from the source and it works like a champ.

How do I get my connection to share for VMware? I don't have a real LAN
which I want to share the connection with, it's a virtual one. Is it
possible that Mandrake doesn't support this yet? And is it also
possible that the Internet Connection Sharing is incompatible with
kernel 2.4?

What is a Download manager? I wasn't aware that downloading files was
complex. FTP is pretty much a universal standard and there are plenty of
Linux/Unix clients. Can you be more specific about what special features a
Download manager provides?

I've been trying to install IBM DB2 V7.1 on a pretty much clean installation

Initially, the install (db2setup) failed because it couldn't find db2. I
manually added the /usr/IBMdb2/V7.1/bin directory to the path, then re-ran
