My vet just called me to tell me about a kitten that
just tested positive for leukemia. The owner
(rescuer) can house her temporarily but needs to find
her a home as soon as possible. They are thinking she
is about 10 weeks old. She is mostly grey with some
orange spots. She has had her distemp
My vet told me not to vaccinate the positives and until she tells me
different with a good explanation, I won't.

I would not do it unless I saw more than one large study done that proved it's

in at least 80% of the cats used in the studies. Like I've said many times
before, I
don't believe in the FELV vaccine at all, any normal adult cat will develop the
immunity against FELV in time anyways, so the v
Thanks, Tracy. Like I said, I'd never heard of it. I'll call the
vet sometime, and see what he says (if I can get to talk with him...)
Meanwhile, I'll stick with my interferon alpha.
Interesting.

Also, homeopathic Nux Vomica is often helpful, again, depending on
the symptoms. And there are some homeopathic "combo" remedies for

I personally think that giving FeLV vaccines to FeLV cats is a very very
bad idea (my holistic and regular vet both agrees) - regardless what
type of vaccines you are giving, it will suppress their immune systems,
and during the time, you will risk it (vaccines) triggering the very

Dear Julie,
My heart is breaking for you...to go thru so much w/ your babies all at one

I am happy Eduardo made it home. Maybe there is still hope my Charity will

My only experience with a FeLV+ cats getting the vaccine was scary. One of
my adult cats (prob. 5-8 years old -- rescue cat so we were unsure of age)
was at the Vet's and without thinking, they gave him the FeLV vaccine.
Shortly thereafter, he started a downward spiral and it only got worse,

Hi all,
I've recently heard from someone , that one approach to enhancing the

FELV. Anybody heard of that?
It changed my thinking - I'd always heard NOT to give the FELV vaccine to

It's so hard to know that you may be spending the last little bit of time

Dear Friends,
I had some time off from work over the last couple of weeks and it's been terribly bittersweet. Eduardo finally came home; thinner and 'talking' a mile a minute. He was VERY happy to see me (he was gone over 2 weeks) but spooked about going into the house. I finally did get him i
