given up on her at some point but my never did and finally got her
stabalized, she has been on pred for over 7 years and is doing great. I

You know my prayers and thoughts are always with you and Lucy. We've
talked about this so many times... Her symptoms are so much like
Gypsy's (the way she bounces back from flare ups and then has problems
again), my intuition is telling me that she has a wicked case of IBD
It's possible that she is constipated, especially if it's happened
before it may be a concern. The only bad thing with pred is if there
is any suspicion at all that there may be lymphoma, the longer they are
on pred the harder lymphoma may be to detect and if chemo is an option
you want to

Well, Lucy ate 3 jars of turkey baby food today, with her raw food
supplements mixed in, and ate a couple of handfuls of cooked turkey and duck,
all of which combined should be a normal amount of daily calories, I think (the
baby food alone is 240 calories for 3 jars).Her weight is back
Lucy was doing better, getting over her IBD flare-up I thought; but I
tapered her down to 5 mg/day of pred yesterday (did 10 for a week, then 7.5 for
4 days, then 5 starting yesterday) and today she is worse-- some diarrhea with
some blood, less interest in food, and under 8 pounds
the switch to all wet food.
The earlier you know if it islymphoma the better the outcome may becats do well w/chemo if caught in time. Have the xray or sonogram or take the step to have the exploratory surgery and biopsy, it will likely give you the answers you need.I'm guessing Lucy is FeLV

If you make the turkey mush, add some plain yogurt to it. I think I
was putting in 2 or 3 tablespoons at one time. I'd probably stick with
the turkey at this point too. It seems our girls are the exception to
the rule.

Something, I think the metaclopramide, is kicking in. She has eaten a
bunch of broiled turkey (only plain-- tried adding some
Honey, we're right here with you guys. It's nice to smile about her

I actually got Red Bank hospital, the best in the state, to schedule me an
appointment with an internist at the earliest date, but that is Thursday
afternoon-- a long way away. I did try to talk the regular vet into just trying
the Leukeran, but he wouldn't, and Lucy wasn't as bad yesterday
Have you tried Metoclopramide Syrup? It's suppose to ease stomach
contractions and it really helped Gypsy the few times I gave it to
her. I'll send you the turkey mush recipe off-list. I'm so sorry
about your concerns for Lucy and her not feeling well. I'm still

Did you try slightly cooking the turkey or duck to bring out some juice
and the aroma? There was a time when Gypsy would only eat salmon, or
salmon mixed with duck. Does Lucy like fish? You know what a trial
Gypsy has been... There was a week when all she would eat was warmed
