I need to know if anyone knows what is the expected lamp life for a Scan
Multi II.
I recieved my Scan Multi II in early August, and have used it mainly on
weekends, (usually turning it off when done, although the lamp appears to
power down after a period of disuse). When I turn i

I had quite successful results scanning MF negatives on my Umax Astra 2400S
flatbed. Of course, I realized that my dynamic range and resoution would
not be up to the standard of a good filmscanner, hence my subsequent
purchase of a Scan Multi II last summer.

If you have a stand-up shower stall in your home, you might try
using that as a place to hang your negatives. I have had a great deal of
dust problems in the half a year or so of film scanning I've done, with both
professionally developed color film and my home develop
I've been doing the same thing recently. I've noticed fewer scratches, but
about the same amount of dust.
What I really like is the money savings from not having prints made. This
is particularly true when I shoot APS (I prefer medium format, but I can't
carry my Kiev 88 in my jacket pocket!

arrays, offset by 1/2 pixel? If so, then of course it looks like a 600 dpi
