far I have been completely unsuccessful trying to get slurs which look
like slurs. So I have used real slurs instead, but that has the
disadvantage of ignoring the tuplet numbers for the slur placement.

Here's how to do 4-patterns of 16ths and have them all metrically
align correctly. (That is, 2 stems up and 2 stems down in each group.)

I just put in groups of seven semiquavers, and used the custom stem tool
to create blank stems for the skipped ones. The hidden rests are at the
ends of the groups, so there's no problems
I would like to combine several movements of an orch. score using Fin07.
But when I insert measures into the combined file, I lose my
hand-crafted beat chart spacing (for some measures, not for others). Has
anyone else seen this? Is there a workaround?

this may or not solve the problem, but there are two different
selection tools in illustrator that function quite differently. also
make sure to click outside everything (eg. outside the page edge) to
make sure NOTHING is selected before clicking on an item to select.

That's what I was afraid would be the answer. Wouldn't it be a good
feature to be able to edit in the part and then re-link that edit to
the score keeping the edit as it had been done in the part? Seems to

With linked parts, it's important to think ahead. If you want an edit
in a part to filter back up into the score, you have to remember to
hold down the override key (cmd on Mac) when you do it.
