Aha. My issue is that the stop button is on a different monitor, so I am unlikely to ingrain that habit. Thanks anyway. On Mon, Apr 23, 2012 at 12:50 PM, Darcy James Argue wrote: > Hi Robert, > > Glad it helped! Please let MM know, this is a nasty bug and it had me > tearing my hair out for days

Hi Robert, Glad it helped! Please let MM know, this is a nasty bug and it had me tearing my hair out for days until I discovered that it was MIDI Thru related. As for the playback, I've long gotten into the habit of clicking the "Stop" button on the playback controls before hitting spacebar, wh

Hi Robert, Yes -- you can assign the MIDI Thru to an empty Fixed channel that does not have an instrument associated with it. Let me know if this helps! If it does, please report it to MM, as the bug is 100% reproducible on my system, but it would be nice to have corroboration. Cheers, - DJA

Darcy, that seems to have fixed the problem! Thanks so much for your quick reply that saved me a bunch of work. On another topic: I am attempting to leave the playback controls up so as to get human playback. I set it to play from the left measure, but when I hit space to top playback, it always

Aha. I did turn off MIDI Thru because I didn't want to hear the instrument sounds on top of my kbd sounds in Speedy. Do you know another way to suppress them? On Mon, Apr 23, 2012 at 12:32 PM, Darcy James Argue wrote: > Hi Robert, > > I was getting severe crashes with Fin2012a, which I eventually

Hi Robert, I was getting severe crashes with Fin2012a, which I eventually discovered were related to my MIDI Thru setting, of all things. If your MIDI Thru is currently set to "Off," try turning it on (use "Fixed" or "Smart" or whatever, it doesn't seem to matter so long as it is on) and see if

I am about to retract exactly what I said about Fin12 a day or two ago. Up until now my work with Fin12 was either as a plugin developer or upgrading an old piece that needed no revisions but needed Unicode text to replace unworkable EPS graphics. But now that I have started a new piece in Fin12, I

I'm not sure at the moment.  I've been using Garritan and probably will continue to use it, however, I know there are some other good sound libraries out there, so I will have to investigate them and see what will work best for me.  It sounds like the issue lies more with space and that a second

Any idea which virtual orchestra? As has been said, Finale with Garritan runs very lightly. I run easy west symphonic orchestra gold and that runs best from an external FireWire. EWSI Platinum is best run from at least four separate drives for brass, wind, strings and percussion as it uses mult
