only was my "base" directory missing, but the entire path:

Why am I still not able to find the 0.19 version.
fink --version reports 0.18.2, but fink selfupdate reports nothing to be done.
I'm using rsync (against master.us.finkmirrors.net as far as I can tell)

Tried both - reinstall first, then when that didn't fix it I tried the rebuild. Same
result both times.

I finally got the cvs selfupdate to hold a connection long enough to upgrade (yay!!).
Now, update-all is bailing out, complaining that the patch for abiword-1.0.3.12 isn't

I know from bitter experience that the intel IBM compilers are not compatible with
gcc-compiled libraries - if you are going to use the IBM compiler then you have to
recompile EVERYTHING.
We ended up going with compilers from the Portland Group for that very reason.

I ran across an interesting opportunity that I thought that someone one this
list may find intriguing. A local publishing company is seeking an
individual to write a book on OSX. This book would focus on the more
technical aspects of the OS. He would like for this to be gear
inclusion of a ${USER} somewhere in the name.
Finally (and I suspect this to be a similar manifestation), I get errors grumbling
about sound out when starting KDE up as any user other than my admin account. Where is
KDE attempting to open a connection/file to and how should I fix it?
