I just had to take the time to post. Solveig is out of a full sister
(Vanya) to my stallion Valbjorn. Valbjorn is by Sleipner out of
Valina. Vanya is also the dam of Dronning, who has been a very good
combined driving mare here on the West co

Mary,
Sorry to be so slow in replying; There aren't enough hours in the day!
I got to travel to Norway one time with my grandfather, and that's the
trip where we picked out Valina. Each of us three grandsons were 'given'
horses to take

Steve,
You had mentioned the necessity of A.I. not long ago, and I too agree
that it would be important to the success of a program such as we are
contemplating. I will certainly be willing to put together a package for

This is my first attempt at communicating on the list. Some of you I know

I sat down to read this morning ... I picked up Michael Crichton's
"Eaters of the Dead". It took me about two pages to get into it then I
couldn't put it down. I've already finished it and I'm a slow

Not having a "connection" with a horse is a common ailment, I think. At
least, I have certainly experienced it. Now, it is possible not to have a
"connection" even with a Fjord--but it is much more unlikely!! :)
Thanks for the details--and I

An update on the saga of getting Boss Gelding Tuopen to accept new-kid

Paint/Quarter Horse) and roughed him up pretty badly the first time we put
them together about 1 October. We se

Steve, As a new person on the list your message shook me up a bit. I would
not want to inadvertently cause trouble but as I do not know the ayes and
nays regarding your message, some direction would be helpful to us newbies.

This sounds like the same story I got last spring. She said she figured the
Fjord market was just saturated. Brigitte is probably the one you might
want. The other mare is probably 1400 lbs. I think prices for draft horses
are low in CA -
